2008 BEASST Annual Meeting
The 2008 Beast Kickoff meeting was held on February 24, 2008
at TGIFriday on Rte 9 North in Marlboro, NJ. There are no current officers so Joe Pagnotta re-capped the 2006 season and introduced the new club stickers that are going to look like the original Beware of the BEASST stickers with some slight modifications also new hats and T-shirts.
.Other events will be posted on the BEASST web page. The club is also looking at a Road Rally. More to come. The club will be sponsoring the last ECIRS race at Englishtown

The club has a forum type site at topica.com where paid members can post questions or reply to them or just keep in touch with the other members.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:25 pm after which everyone had something to eat and drink. We also had a group picture taken with the new Club banner and the new ISSCA banner.

ENGLISHTOWN SPRING SHOW and SWAP MEET April 19, 2008; It was a beautiful sunny day again this year. We had 55 members show up for the show and the crowd was enormous. Since we lost the Club Participation Award to the Truck club (NASTE) last Fall the event organizers moved us to the end of the track where you  enter the show. The location worked out pretty good because you didn't have to go the length of the track to park and it was instant out when you leave. For the Fall show the club will request that we be put down by the end of the track again. We lost club participation again to the truck club who had 80 pre-registered vehicles. These guys were bad news at the last show and that didn't change this year. BEASST had their tent setup along with a table on which we displayed our past Club Participation Trophies, applications for the club and a photo album of our past events and flyers for the 2006 up-coming shows. We had several people take applications so hopefully we get some new members..
There were a lot of nice Impala/Caprice/9C1/Wagons in our group and the crowd still showed a lot of interest in our cars. Since this is Major club event ballots were handed out for voting on First, Second, Third, and Best Paint & Best Mod. At the end of the day and before the E-town awards BEASST had their award ceremony. President Joe PagSS held the drawings for 50/50 & the door prizes. In the trophy awards John Rosenberry won 1st place, Tony & SSally won 2nd place, and Marco Bucci took 3rd. The Best Paint went to Jesse Jackson with his Dark Cherry Metalflake and the Best Mod went to Carl Malone. No one won anything from E-town since this is a Peoples Choice Award show and we generally don't do well in those events because our cars are still to new. All in all it was a good day and we look forward to seeing everyone at the next event.
